Employee of the Month - January 2012

Margaret Winstead (Technical Services/LAC) was selected as the January 2012 Employee of the Month at the Council meeting Wednesday morning. Katrina Bate (Collection Development Manager/LAC) was one of two supervisors who nominated Margaret. Katrina writes:

Margaret’s knowledge and experience make her an invaluable resource to staff.  She is patient with those seeking her help, whether it be solving a problem or answering a question, and makes my job easier because she is so good at hers.

Margaret will receive her choice of a $50 gift card or 4 extra hours of vacation.

Other nominees for January were Joe Berry (LAC), Jaci DeFelice (LPL), Christman Hersha (LAC), Lori Horn (FFB), Tyler Howat (LPL), Evelyn Johnson (OXB), Linsey Milillo (FFB),  Morrison the Elder (LPL) and Morrison the Younger (BKM).

Change to itype for Blu-ray discs

Effective today, the itype for Blu-ray discs is now the same for DVDs: dvd. 2,402 Blu-ray items have been changed.

This change was made to eliminate the possibility of patrons having both 25 DVDs and 25 Blu-ray discs checked out at one time.

"Blu-ray" will still be designated as Blu-ray in the the catalog. One issue you may run into for awhile: some patrons who had a collection of both DVDs and Blu-rays checked out will now have to return more to get under the new combined limit of 25.
